Idealis a South African 

   based company, in existence since 1985.   We  handle and distribute (to galleries and dealers throughout Southern Africa) original paintings of high quality, done by well known,  professional artists.  However, we ourselves feel an obligation to take these works of art to smaller towns and more remote areas of Southern Africa.  The benefits to the artists are wider exposure and increased sales.

The communities (or towns) we go to, probably benefit even more: (1) We expose the community to art that is normally only seen in the big galleries in the cities.  (2) We are able to  meet and screen young arties and in this way have met "new" artists who have   since come on board with  us and are now enjoying international exposure through our company.  (3) We "expose" young, local talent to quality art of international standards, providing a standard towards which they could aim.

 At our exhibitions, you will view approximately 102 different artists' framed works of art, all of which are original.  The majority fall in the affordable price range with a few more special pieces for collectors. Ideal Art's most popular artist is well-known pastelist David Johnson, who creates African bush scenes which leaves you with the feeling that you've 'been there'. James Stroud is one of the new sensations in the art world, with his stunning animal and flowers studies in oil and acrylic.  There is also Errol Boyley, Mark Enslin, Pieter van der Westhuizen, Marie-Vermeulen Breedt and the now world rated impressionist Adriaan Boshoff.  We successfully exhibit a great variety of subjects from landscapes to still lives to figures studies, and within these choices there are also a great balance of different styles and in different mediums available.  Yes, there are oils, pencil and charcoal sketches, acrylics, water-colours, etchings, collages and montages to see and acquire.

Persian / Oriental Rugs

We also carry an unique range of hand knotted rugs which are imported directly from Southern Russia, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran.  All rugs displayed are brand new rugs, none are slow movers from other shops, not one is knotted by a child under the age of 12; and all are un-repaired rugs. IDEAL ART also repairs and cleans Persian/Oriental rugs.

Each rug and work of art carries an unique trade-in guarantee.  This implies that our clients are welcome to trade-in an item acquired from Ideal Art on any other item in its range, and the minimum that the trade-in will be done at is the original purchase price,  If the item had dramatically increased in value, the client will receive more on the trade-in than originally paid.
